Pain in Fingertips

Hi, I've been working in IT industry for the last 11 years. I do consume alcohol(rum) in specific on weekends. A strange pain (sometimes severe) has developed in my fingertips in the last 3-4months. The pain remains for about 2-3 days before disappearing. I also occasionally take whiskey (neat). Is the pain because of my booze habits or do I lack something in terms of any vitamins? Any help/suggestions appreciated. Regards, D.
