Pain in abdomen

Asked for Female, 23 Years

I have pain in my stomach at right side abdomen since last 3 to 4 days and during periods the pain increases. My last periods was on 17th this month the pain continue till now sometimes low pain sometimes it increases. 4 years ago I had sonography for this pain and dr. said I had little swelling at left side abdomen . Please suggest what is the exactly problem was

Hi there.. it's very difficult to tel the cause of pain without examining completely.. you may have dysmenorrhoea.. pain during periods is called dysmenorrhoea.. it's normal and everyone gets dysmenorrhoea, pain is bearable and stays just for 1-2days and it's sign of ovulatory cycle.. but if the pain is severe and for more days then there could be cause for it.. causes of dysmenorrhoea are Fibroids, adenomyosis, Endometriosis.. please get ultrasound of abdomen pelvis done now to rule out any pathology.. treatment includes treating underlying cause, hot fomentation, pain killers like tablet mefenemic acid, intrauterine device containing progesterone, oral pills... please consult gynecologist once..
