Whenever you get muscle strain, rest to that muscle is inevitable. When a muscle is injured it needs rest to recover from its injury which can last from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. By continuing the activity you have re-injured the same muscle hence depending on grade of muscle strain the rest period can differ.
Next Steps
Please visit the Physiotherapist or orthopaedic doctor for detailed evaluation. Anti-inflammatory drugs prescribed by the doctor will help in reliving pain and enhance the recovery process.
Health Tips
Give the muscle rest and apply ice for 15 mins every 2 hourly for 48 hours.
