My age is 60, weight 76, height 5ft 4in (BMI 28). I have diabetes and hypertension. My current overall calorie intake per day is 2200 kcal and I do walking 20 mins everyday. What should be by ideal overall calorie intake? (Someone suggested to me it should be 1600 kcal)

As per above mentioned details you can have a calorie intake upto 1200 to 1600 kcal..per day..as per RDA ( Recommended Dietary Allowance )
However you are falling in the category of OBESITY 1..under Obesity..your calorie intake should be restricted..and along with Obesity you have Diabetes and Hypertension also..
So its recommended to consume in restricted calories...with the mentioned medical conditions...

high fiber diet, low carbs, moderate plant based proteins, low fat dairy, only allowed fruits and vegetables with respect to DIABETES, and Low salt for Hypertension as well...
