Over drying right lips overnight, painin

I suddenly developed a weird dryness and tightness on my lips day before. It almost feels like a layer has formed on top, although it is not visible to the naked eye. this morning my lip felt even dryer and began cracking to a small bleed in left corner. while I've been applying ghee and oil, it just feels like all the moisture gets sapped and it's dry again in an hour. also, while applying the ghee to the lips, I can feel the dry flaky layer, but it's not shedding or visible to the naked eye. my lips appear redder than usual too. I took an anti allergen yesterday and today (allegra 120), but it hasn't helped.
