Oral gonorrhea ?
Hi, I recently had unprotected oral sex for the first time on Thursday, it is now early Tuesday and I suddenly noticed I have a sore throat and a bit trouble swallowing. I generally have tonsil problems but I don't know if this could just be those reoccurring or perhaps something worse? I am currently on vacation with my parents so I don't have health insurance in this country and i am too embarassed to say anything to my parents. I go back home on Friday, so is it ok/ safe to wait that long ?

Hi there. This is Dr Satya Kiran ENT Surgeon from Hyderabad India. Unprotected sex might lead to sexually transmitted diseases which could effect oral cavity along with genital areas. There is a long list of such conditions. A picture of lesion in oral cavity would help for diagnosis. However, penicillin group or cephalosporin group of antibiotic drug course would help in most of cases. Local lesion care is also advisable.
