Hi, from the last 2 days I've been feeling kind of numbness in my right hand pinky and ring finger. This continues.
Usually if we sit for a long time without moving our leg the same feel comes (like ants crowl) which goes after some movement.
But this feeling in my fingers doesn't go away.

Dear Patient,
Thank you for sharing your symptoms. Numbness in the fingers, particularly the pinky and ring finger, can be concerning and may be related to nerve compression or other underlying conditions. The sensation you describe, similar to the feeling when a limb "falls asleep," but persisting, could indicate issues such as ulnar nerve entrapment, often referred to as cubital tunnel syndrome, or other neurological or vascular conditions.
It's important to evaluate the exact cause of your symptoms through a detailed clinical examination and possibly some diagnostic tests. Early intervention can prevent potential complications and improve outcomes.
I recommend scheduling a consultation to discuss your symptoms in detail and to determine the appropriate course of action. Please feel free to reach out to me via WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further discussion and to arrange a consultation.
Take care,
I want to know of you have any weakness of your hand , clawing of fingers , any history of trauma or fall or any form of injury
Even small hit on the elbow can irritate your ulnar nerve , which can cause these symptoms. It will go away shortly
If it doesn't go away , let us see .
Your symptoms—numbness in the pinky and ring fingers of the right hand that persists—suggest a possible ulnar nerve compression or entrapment. This could be due to:
1. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome – Compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow (common in desk workers and IT professionals due to prolonged elbow bending or resting elbows on hard surfaces).
2. Guyon’s Canal Syndrome – Compression of the ulnar nerve at the wrist, often caused by repetitive hand movements.
3. Cervical Radiculopathy (C8 Nerve Root Compression) – A pinched nerve in the neck (due to poor posture, cervical spondylosis, or a herniated disc).
4. Vitamin B12 Deficiency – While you are taking supplements, inadequate absorption or other underlying conditions can still lead to nerve-related symptoms.
5. Diabetes or Other Neuropathies – If there is a history of high blood sugar, it may contribute to nerve dysfunction.
What You Can Do Now
Avoid prolonged elbow bending (e.g., while using a phone, typing, or sleeping).
Change posture frequently while working and avoid leaning on the elbow.
Perform gentle nerve gliding exercises to relieve compression.
Use wrist and elbow supports to prevent pressure on the ulnar nerve.
Apply ice or take anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen) if there’s mild swelling or discomfort.
Check for neck issues—if symptoms worsen with certain neck movements, cervical radiculopathy may be the cause.
Next Steps
When to See a Doctor
If symptoms persist beyond 1–2 weeks.
If numbness worsens, spreads, or starts affecting grip strength.
If you experience weakness in hand movements (e.g., difficulty holding objects).
If you notice muscle wasting in the hand.
Could be due to the local Nerve issues esp the one supplying the ring and little finger.it could be at elbow or neck levels.Consult a physician in your area for a clinical examination and appropriate treatment.
Causes
Prolonged elbow bending, Repetitive strain from activities like typing or using a smartphone
Or may Injury or swelling around the nerve.
Next Steps
1 Avoid prolonged elbow bending – Try to keep the arm straight while sleeping and avoid resting on the elbows.
2. Modify hand movements – Reduce activities that strain the wrist and elbow, such as excessive typing or gripping objects tightly.
3. Perform nerve gliding exercises – Simple stretching exercises may help relieve nerve pressure.
4. Apply cold or warm compress – Ice packs can reduce inflammation, while warm compresses may improve circulation.
5. Seek medical advice – If symptoms persist beyond a few days or worsen (e.g., weakness in the hand, difficulty gripping objects), consult a doctor for evaluation.
