1️⃣ What Is Happening? What you experienced is most likely: Temporary nerve compression due to prolonged sitting When you sit for long periods — especially: • On a hard chair • Leaning forward • Using mobile • Without shifting position You compress the pudendal nerve and blood vessels in the pelvic region. This can cause: • Numbness in private parts • Tingling in perineum • Reduced sensation temporarily When you rubbed the area: • Blood flow increased • Nerve pressure relieved • Sensation returned This confirms it is positional and reversible, not disease. ⸻ 2️⃣ Is It Dangerous? No — if: • It lasted only a few minutes • Sensation returned fully • No weakness • No bladder or bowel control issue It is similar to: Leg “falling asleep” when you sit cross-legged too long. However, if numbness: • Persists • Happens frequently • Associated with back pain • Associated with urinary difficulty Then evaluation is needed. ⸻ 3️⃣ Why It Happens (Simple Physiology) When sitting long: • Body weight compresses perineal nerves • Reduced blood supply temporarily • Nerve conduction slows • You feel numb Mobile use posture makes it worse because: • Pelvis tilts • Pressure increases on perineum
Next Steps
✔ Avoid sitting continuously > 30–40 minutes ✔ Stand and stretch every 30 minutes ✔ Use cushioned chair ✔ Maintain upright posture ✔ Avoid leaning forward excessively If you work long hours sitting: Consider pelvic cushion support.
Health Tips
Seek evaluation if you develop: • Persistent numbness • Erectile dysfunction (if male) • Loss of bladder control • Severe lower back pain • Weakness in legs ⸻ This sounds like temporary nerve compression from posture, not a serious neurological issue. If this becomes frequent, I can guide you further. If symptoms persist or recur often, better to get evaluated early rather than ignore — timely assessment prevents chronic nerve irritation.

Can be due to prolonged sitting, similar to how prolonged sitting or keeping leg in one position for long, can make the leg feel numb. Get blood sugar done to exclude diabetes. Get serum vit b12 also tested. Take tab neurobion forte one daily for 2 weeks.

This is likely due to pressure on nerves from sitting in one position for long time. It usually improves once you move or change posture.
Next Steps
Avoid prolonged sitting, take short breaks, and consult me if numbness keeps recurring so I can examine you properly.

Dear Patient, What you experienced is likely temporary nerve compression caused by sitting in one position for a long time, especially with pressure on the sitting area or perineum. This can cause numbness or tingling in the genital area or nearby regions, which usually resolves when you change position or rub the area. consult me if - Persistent numbness or tingling lasting more than a few hours - Pain, weakness, or difficulty controlling bladder/bowel - Recurrent episodes even with posture adjustment For further guidance and personalized treatment you may consult me on Practo anytime.
