Hi.. The numbness could be due to nerve compression.. It might have been caused by some wrong postures or due to lifting heavy weight unusually or if you are diabetic..  I would like to know whether the numbness radiates from your hip or knee till your toes or your have only on your toes? Need the complete history.
Next Steps
Do basic leg stretch for your calf muscles..
Health Tips
Check whether the numbness subsides after stretching. If it persist need to Consult a Physiotherapist or Orthopaedist for further evaluation.

May be due to sitting or sleeping in one position for prolonged duration. This can lead to pressure on some nerve anywhere in the leg to give these symptoms.

What is your occupation? What is your height and weight? Is this complaint occurred for the first time or you have experienced it before also? Did you have a fall or a jerk? Did you pushed any hard surface or lifted any heavy object in recent past? Looking at your complaints looks like there is a nerve compression at L5-S1 levels. But if you answer above questions then it will be more evident to support this.
Next Steps
First and foremost rest as much time as possible. Try to do some basic leg movements so that your strength of lower limbs remains intact. Do hot and cold water bath around your foot it will help you to relieve numbness.
Health Tips
Don't lift heavy weights, use firm surface for sleeping, and most important of all stay calm and relaxed.

Hello Do you have any back pain earlier if yes do write back so that proper guidance can be done. Diabetes? Usually uncommon at this age. Prolonged sitting? Heavy  weight lifting? Numbness usually arises due to nerve compression or entrapment. Initial treatment...it's to relieve the symptoms. Start icing that is quick icing technique.( Thrice a day). Start lying prone with pillow under chest for 15 min twice daily empty stomach or 2 hours after meal. Final treatment plan and diagnosis will be made after above questions are answered. Do revert with proper history. Thanks.
