Your father is taking: • Losar-H (Losartan + Hydrochlorothiazide) → for BP • Vinglyn 50 (likely Vildagliptin) → for diabetes • Glyciphage SR 500 (Metformin) → for diabetes • Petril MD 0.5 mg (Clonazepam) → for anxiety/sleep Now he has: • Head reeling while walking (giddiness) • Poor appetite (avoiding rice/bread) • Incomplete bowel movement Most likely causes:
Next Steps
Step 1: Check Immediately ✔ Measure BP (sitting and standing) ✔ Check blood sugar (fasting and random) If: • BP
Health Tips
✔ Elderly patients are sensitive to BP medicines ✔ If appetite reduced, diabetic medicines may need adjustment ✔ Avoid giving additional medicines without checking BP and sugar ✔ Monitor daily readings for 3–5 days Most likely cause is either low BP or low sodium due to Losar-H, especially if he is eating less. This requires careful medication review rather than adding new drugs. Because multiple medications are involved and dizziness in elderly can become serious quickly, I strongly recommend booking an online consultation so we can review his BP readings, sugar values, and labs in detail and adjust his medicines safely.

He may be having postural hypotension,i.e. fall of b.p. on standing.  Get b.p. checked in sitting and standing position. In that case use of losar h has to be reviewed. Can be due to salt deficiency, get serum electrolytes checked. Low sugar, can also cause it, so feed him something sweet for a day or 2 on experiencing this problem and see the response. No need to eat rice or bread. If he does not like it. He can drink hot water before sleeping, take tab dulcolax 5mg one after dinner for a week. Taking more of green, leafy vegetables in diet.
