Neonatal Stroke
Baby Girl was born on 4th March. On term delivery. Birth weight 2.5 kg: she had neonatal strokeMRi said blockage in Right side brain vain. MRI Angio suggested right side vains are smaller than left side. EEG was normal at 10 days age but EEG at 5 weeks had small discharge. Gardinal(1.5 ml BD and Levera 0.5 ml BD) is prescribed by doctor. What should we do to minimise their side effect. Currently 2 month old and weight is 4.6 kg. How long can these be continued.

Sir, if I am understanding your problem correctly, there is narrowing of blood vessels of head and which lead to stroke. You wanted to know about gardinal (phenobarbitone). Can you post the MRI report and some more details about the symptoms. It will be better to comment then. As a paediatric case is to be managed cautiously.
