It is completely understandable to feel this way, and please know that you aren’t alone in this experience. Becoming a mother while carrying the weight of past loss is an incredible emotional challenge, and feeling irritable, restless, or even a bit disconnected is a natural sign that your mind and body are simply overwhelmed, not that you are failing. Counseling provides a safe, kind space where you can gently untangle these heavy feelings of grief and postpartum changes at your own pace. A counselor can help you find small, manageable ways to reclaim your sense of self and joy, supporting you as you navigate both the memory of your father and the new life you are building with your daughter.

Hey What you’re describing sounds like a mix of unresolved grief from losing your father and possible postpartum emotional changes. After delivery, many women experience irritability, restlessness, loss of interest, and a strong urge to escape their routine and when grief is already there, it can intensify everything. The fact that you feel relief when you see your baby but also helpless at times shows you are emotionally connected yet overwhelmed. This is not a failure as a mother, it is emotional overload that has not been processed fully. Right now do not force yourself to feel happy at home. Instead build small daily exits, even 30 to 60 minutes outside alone or with someone supportive can regulate your mood. Start expressing your grief in a structured way like journaling about your father, talking about him or allowing yourself to cry without stopping it. Also gently reintroduce small activities that used to interest you even if the interest is not there yet. This state is treatable and with the right support your emotional balance can return. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
