Is Burn patient physiotherapy different from other physiotherapy? Or any  physiotherapist can do burn patient physiotherapy???

Physiotherapy for burns is taught in basic years of bachelor degree of physiotherapy. All physiotherapist can treat them easily. Basic principle behind the burnt case is to prevent contracture formation around the joint and to maintain the range of motion. usually out of fear and pain patient avoids movement thus physiotherapist can guide to what extent the ranges can go .They will guide you on the basis of end feel of joints .

Any physio is qualified 2 treat burn cases. But do visit only qualified physiotherapists as there are some key points a physio should know while handling burn area.

It is not a different branch of physiotherapy but yes treatment for burns patient varies from other patient as it involves treating a lot of stiffness and contractures. any skilled physiotherapist with exposure from burns unit can give physiotherapy

Yes In burn cases, A physiotherapist have to take certain care and precautions. Any physiotherapist is eligible to do physio on burn patient as in our course we learn to see such cases also.

Hello Miss , Burns patient do have special needs in terms of skin contractures , easy infections and lung hygiene. Although it is taught to all the Physiotherapists in their undergraduate course , there is a need for experience to master the art of caring for Burns patients. Hope this helps

Not really. Not so different. yes Physiotherapist can do burn patients physiotherapy after general burn treatment by surgeon or physician or skin specialist .
