Based on your history, the pain seems muscular due to strain while lifting weight and prolonged walking. Your MRI is normal, which is reassuring and suggests soft-tissue involvement rather than spinal damage.
IFT vs TENS
IFT is generally better for deep muscle pain and inflammation.
TENS works mainly for surface-level pain relief.
Since your pain is upper and middle back muscle strain, IFT would be more beneficial than TENS for long-term improvement.
Next Steps
Request treatment from a qualified physiotherapist, not a receptionist.
Start IFT + hot pack + gentle stretching for 7–10 days.
Add strengthening of upper back and posture training once pain reduces.
Health Tips
Avoid lifting heavy weight until recovery.
Maintain upright sitting posture, avoid long sitting.
Use hot fomentation at home 15 minutes twice a day.
Practice deep breathing to reduce chest tightness.
If pain does not improve in a week, get reassessment by a physiotherapist.

Best is to get assessment done by cert. physio.
All modalities are ok, but they work like pain killers, temporary relief. For sustained relief and faster recovery mckenzie assessment with exercise alomng with machine is best way to go.
Ift, tence and ultrasound are temporary pain relief devices which help in temperory pain relief so you can perform exercise better, before commenting on anything I will like to detail assessment for you for which you can connect me online. Then we can plan what set of exercises can be given or you need to rest for some days or any external device to support you during working and exercise is needed
Since your MRI is normal and the pain is likely due to muscular strain or overuse from lifting and walking long distances, either TENS or IFT can help reduce pain temporarily.
However, the main focus should be on posture correction, stretching, and strengthening exercises once pain decreases.
Health Tips
Continue pain medication as prescribed.
Apply an ice pack 10–15 mins if pain increases.
Avoid lifting heavy weights until pain subsides.
Follow up with a physiotherapist for exercise therapy once pain improves.
