Need advice on covid vaccine second dose
My mother had mild fever varying 99 to 99.8 for 9 days.. she took antibiotics course of 5 days(during laat five days of fever) for Azithromycin 500 and montecope. Also felt a mild loss of smell. No fever since last 4 days now. Also sense of smell is better. Also she has not undertaken any medical test for covid. She has her second vaccine dose of covaxin scheduled for this week. Plz suggest can the second dose b taken now  or any tests need to be conducted before taking the second dose.

Antibodies are detected in blood tests generally after 4 weeks on covid infection. Hence it will be of no use right now. Her symptoms seem likely of covid. It is hence advisable to wait for 3 months to take her second vaccination dose.

Get her tested fir COVID And if the result is positive, wait for 3 months until you get her the second dose. This is according to the latest ICMR guidelines.
