Need advice for diamox
Greetings to the saviours,
I will be traveling to Leh Ladakh from Pune on 8th of August and then there's 2 days of acclimatization break at Leh and then we'll begin our bike ride journey to higher altitude.
So I am a smoker and I'm afraid I might run into breathing issues
Is it okay if I take Diamox from 7th August?

To take tab Diamox 24 hours before climbing.
Also avoid fatty, heavy, meals, take small frequent meals and stay well hydrated.

Diamox as a prophylaxis is not a standard mode of prevention. If at all, one dose of diamox will be useless. The duration of action of diamox is less than 24 hours. So by the time you reach Laddakh the duration of action of diamox will be over.
You should start the Pharmacological prevention after you reach Laddakh.
By the way today is 9 August.
