My mother is feeling nauseous and is unable to eat solid food. She can only take fruits and liquids. She also feels like something is stuck in her throat. Are there any medications for nausea ?

your mother is having constant nausea, an inability to swallow solid food, and a distinct feeling of something being stuck in her throat. Based on this, she may have severe acid reflux (GERD) causing swelling in the food pipe, a throat infection, or an esophageal motility issue. However, for a proper diagnosis, we need a targeted physical examination and a clinical look at her throat rather than blindly taking generic anti-acidity tablets.
Next Steps
To accurately review her throat discomfort, find the exact root cause of her nausea, and provide an immediate, targeted prescription to help her eat safely again, please book a direct consultation session via my Practo profile."
Health Tips
Switch Exclusively to a Liquid/Semi-Solid Diet: Do not force her to eat heavy or solid meals. Keep her on small, frequent portions of light liquids like coconut water, clear dal soup, or thoroughly blended fruit purees that pass down the throat easily. Maintain an Upright Posture After Intake: Ensure she sits completely upright for at least 30 to 45 minutes after consuming any liquids or fruits. This uses gravity to prevent stomach acid from traveling back up into her throat and triggering the nausea loop.

For nausea she can take tab pantop razole 40 mg once daily before breakfast. If still persists she can also take domperidone tab 10 mg along with it .
Next Steps
But her symptoms overall are concerning and she needs proper evaluation. Kindly consult a physician or a gastroenterologist.
