Nasal Polyps and Deviated Nasal Septum
Hi doctor, I have a deviated nasal septum which blocks like 80% of my left nostrill. I have dust allergy (for over 12 years), which makes the insides of my nose very sensitive to dust, and I fall into a sneezing fit almost always. This has caused the inner walls of my nose to swell, causing nasal polyps, that block my right nostrill. I wonder if I should "fix" my nose by correcting the deviation and removing the polyps. I hope at least that would make it easier to breathe. Perhaps my allergy is chronic, based on a local doctor's opinion, so all I can do is prevent exposure to dust. But the polyp removal and the DNS correction is something I am considering. Please let me know of your opinion on this. Should I consider the surgery? How long does the surgery take for what I am suggesting? If I am to plan it, will I have to take a long leave from work? Your help is greatly appreciated.
