Nail problems
My nail is very soft and smells bad the corners of my toenail(skin) are red and swollen.cut some of the nail and the pain went away seems to hurt only if the nail grows to the top

You seem to have ingrown toe nail with chronic paronychia (long standing infection of nail and surrounding tissue).
For ingrown toe nail -Let your nail grow to some extent and cut them in straight line. Never curve /shape them.
Consult your dermatologist who may give you some oral or topical antibiotic amd antifungal treatments to releive the pain amd reduce the infection. In extreme case the affected nail can be removed
