Myelopathy term is used when disease have already involved substance of spinal Cord. Cervical spondylosis vs cervical spondylitic myelopathy (CSM) are two different terms. Spondylosis is used when disease is limited to bone and can be corrected/controlled. CSM means upper motor neuron signs are present below the level of disease and hence requires surgery to correct the neurological component.
