My mother is facing irritation in throat

Asked for Female, 55 Years

From the last six months my mother is facing irritation in throat .we consulted some E.N.T doctors they gave antiallergics ,dry cough syrups but nothing worked.then a pharmacist said that the irritation could be a cause of ramipril tablet as per his knowledge...it's a side-effect of ramipril is he right ..if not what should I do to get rid of this problem . She's a diabetes and a heart patient and she's on a strict medication .

Her problem could be throat irritation arising secondary to post nasal drip arising out of sinusitis. She will need a diagnostic nasal endoscopy first followed by a ct scan of paranasal sinuses to evaluate further and determine the treatment accordingly. Antihistamines and topical steroid nasal spray can be useful.
