Hey good evening doctors,
For the past day, I’ve been feeling a vibrating or beating sensation in my left triceps area like a quick heartbeat that lasts for 3–4 seconds. It happens every 1–5 minutes, not continuously. I also rarely feel it in my leg.
It started the day after my workout. I do 100 push-ups daily. I drink around 8–13 glasses of water a day.
It’s quite annoying and uncomfortable. Could this be due to muscle fatigue or something else?

Muscle fasciculations post-workout are common from muscle fatigue, dehydration, or electrolyte imbalance. 100 push-ups daily is intense. Twitching lasting 3-4 seconds occasionally is benign. However, if persistent or worsening, rule out nerve issues.
Next Steps
Stay hydrated - drink electrolyte water Reduce workout intensity temporarily Ensure adequate rest between sets Get magnesium, potassium, calcium levels checked Stretch properly before/after exercise
Health Tips
Usually benign but monitor. If twitching spreads, weakness develops, or persists beyond 2 weeks, see neurologist. Avoid excessive caffeine. Most exercise-induced twitches resolve with rest.
Dnt worry. It's called fasciculation .
Caused by.. overuse, electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, anxiety, caffeine , nerve compression etc
It can less commonly caused by nerve disorder, thyroid issues, or vitamin B12 deficiency
Do..1)Rest the affected arm and avoid overuse.
2)Stay hydrated and maintain electrolyte balance.
3)Ensure good intake of magnesium, potassium, and vitamin B complex.
4)Limit caffeine and manage stress.
5)Gentle stretching and massage may help relax the muscle.
6)Get enough sleep.
If the sensation still remains for more than two weaks consult a neurologist.

It’s likely due to muscle fatigue or overuse from your push-ups.
Try resting for a day or two, stretching the arm, and eating foods rich in magnesium and potassium (like bananas, nuts, and spinach).
It should settle on its own — see a doctor if it lasts over one or 2 weeks or causes weakness.
Next Steps
Give adequate amount of rest between workout days and sets.
Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician.
Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. The vibrating or throbbing sensation youâre feeling in the triceps area after workout is quite common and usually happens due to temporary muscle fatigue, overuse, or minor nerve irritation after repetitive exertion such as doing high-volume push-ups.
â Advices
Give your muscles at least 2 to 3 days of rest and avoid overexerting the same muscle group.
Continue staying well hydrated and include electrolyte-rich fluids if you sweat a lot during workouts.
Add stretching and light shoulder-triceps mobility work before and after workouts to reduce nerve and muscle strain.
What to Monitor
If the twitching becomes continuous or spreads to other areas.
If you start noticing weakness, numbness, or pain in the arm or hand.
Management
You may take a vitamin B-complex supplement daily for a week, as mild deficiencies can worsen muscle fasciculations.
Apply a warm compress over the area once or twice daily and avoid caffeine for a few days, as it can increase twitching.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
If muscle twitching persists beyond 10 to 14 days despite rest.
If you notice muscle thinning or weakness developing.
If the twitching becomes generalized or associated with other neurological symptoms.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, itâs important to discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail.

It could be due to local muscle fatigue due to dehydration and mineral imbalance.Drink adequate amount of water and use magnesium glycinate supplements for a few days
You should do a good workout for your upper limbs. You should maintain your hydration with water or lime juice.
If the problem persists for more than a week you should get your Vit D3, B12 and Calcium levels tested.

Hi young man,
The condition you have mentioned sounds more like a muscle fatigue due to excessive exercise and overuse of your muscles. But to say that this condition should disappear within 7-10 days once you give proper rest and recovery time for your muscles.
What all other things can cause this?
1. Electrolyte imbalance (potassium, magnesium, calcium deficiency)
2. Stress
3. Lack of sleep (indirectly reduces muscle recovery)
4. Caffeine (especially if taking extra supplements during workout)
Health Tips
1. Keep hydrating yourself
2. Avoid excessive intake of caffeinated drinks
3. Sleep for at least 6-8 hours/day when you workout
4. Unless your muscle recovery has happened avoid excessive exercise or overuse of the muscles
5. If your problem worsens/persists for >7-10 days, please consider getting your electrolytes level checked. (Please DM me, I am there to help you out)
Could be due to muscle fatigue due to over exercise, electrolytes imbalance, anxiety, stress, lack of sleep, b12 ,minerals deficiency, I.e. one or more of these factors.
Please share detailed medical history, get tests done of serum calcium, vit d3, vit b12 and share results
For now avoid extra exercise, relax adequately, do warm up exercises before actual work out.
Take tab neurobion forte one daily for 4 weeks.
The twitchings are a sign of mild electrolytic imbalance which may be as a result of sweating .Pl try a glass of ORS on its occurance next time and inform the result.
Pl add Tab calcium( Gemcal ) once a day for two weeks after any major meal.
