I was suffering from neckpain and shoulder pain from past two months. I visited a neurologist and he suggested me a MRI scan and he also asked me to consult orthopedist, if taking mri scan is safe since i have had a hip replacement surgrey.kindly suggest me if MRI scan is safe for my condition.

Yeah it is safe as the THR components are mostly cobalt chromium and are fixed with either cement or screws.
Even if it is uncemented , components gets incorporated with bone.

If you had hip replacement more than 6 weeks you can go for MRI scan - no problem with it. For neck pain point of view - try physio first then do neck muscles strengthening exercises- isometric exercises. You might not need MRI if pain settles. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration because dehydrated disc is more prone to injury. It is better for neck pain.
