MRI report
My mother has back pain for many years we have done an MRI the doctor said she has ankylosing spondylitis but there is another one in the report that is sclerosis. Please help us by giving the knowledge of the disease she has, we saw on the internet that sclerosis is a very dangerous disease. We are really worried . Is sclerosis or ankylosing spondylitis different or what . Please explain please. I have attached the report.

Although there are few conditions which can mimic similar findings as Seronegative axial spondyloarthropathies i.e Ankylosing spondylitis however it does need to rule out. AS is not a condition solely diagnosed on the basis of MRI , a clinician need to take a proper history and perform physical exam. This looks like inflammatory arthritis  that is sacroilietis...it will require treatment in form of anti inflammatory and dmards medicines..pls consult rheumatologist
