Vanoprazan for Breathing Problem Due to GERD – Need Clarification
Hello Doctor,
My gastroenterologist recently prescribed Vanoprazan 20mg, once daily on an empty stomach in the morning, for my breathing problem. I came to know that the cause of my breathing issue is GERD (silent reflux).
I told the doctor about my breathing difficulty, but I forgot to mention that I feel a burning sensation in my lungs every morning.
Now I have some concerns:
Is it better to take Vanoprazan in the morning or at night?
If I take it in the morning, will it still work at night also?
Should I go back and inform the doctor about the daily burning lung sensation?
My recent CT scan shows early lung damage — could it be due to silent reflux happening at night?
I’m worried that morning dosing might wear off by night, which could allow silent reflux to slowly damage the lungs during sleep.
I met my doctor just yesterday, but I’m unsure if I should follow up now or wait.
Please guide.
