Hello human! Thank you for sharing your struggles. We appreciate your decision to reach out and seek help. Feeling depressed and lethargic have become increasingly common today. These conditions have been worsened by the pandemic and lockdowns. Here are some general self-care tips that may help. *Take care of your physical health. It may seem like a silly thing to point out, but it has a significant impact on mental health. Eat a balanced diet, get adequate sleep, engage in exercise and give your body breaks when you deserve it. *Talk to a supportive friend or family member about how you’re feeling. Confiding in people you trust would make you feel loved and accepted. *When it comes to sleeplessness, try to maintain a daily routine. Avoid screens for at least an hour before bed. *Engage in hobbies! Surround yourself with positivity by doing the things you love. *Try practicing mindfulness, meditation and/or relaxation techniques. These would help you connect with yourself and calm your mind.
Next Steps
Most of all, I would recommend you consult a qualified professional when you feel ready. A counselling psychologist would create a safe space for you to talk about your concerns and guide you on your mental health journey. Their advice would be specific to you.

Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. Firstly, I appreciate your for taking the first step in your mental health journey. It takes courage and strength. It sounds like you're going through a difficult time and is struggling to cope with it. These symptoms seems like you're experiencing stress/depression and given the COVID circumstances, it is highly likely to be the predominant ones. There can be various reasons for your concerns of which only you could be aware of. You can try few things to manage your concerns: 1. Journaling - Write your thoughts down on a daily basis, this helps to vent out your thoughts/emotions/feelings and also it helps you to reflect on why you feel in a certain way, why you feel hopeless and lethargic, why you've lost interest, etc. It allows you to view your concerns objectively, from a third person's perspective. You can also draw/paint whatever you feel like which is also a kind of journaling. 2. Talk to someone - If you think journaling is not suitable for you, you could always talk to someone - a friend/family or a loved one whom you trust. This helps in venting out your thoughts/emotions and would make you feel better. 3. Mindfulness - Being in the present moment and focusing on the present helps to distract/avoid negative thinking, dwelling and also helps to manage few depressive symptoms. You can try 5-4-3-2-1 technique - name five things that you can see, four things that you can hear, three things that you can touch, two things that you can smell and one thing that you can taste. Practising this technique helps to manifest mindfulness in your daily life. 4. Seek therapy - Above mentioned techniques helps you to ground yourself, and manage your concerns to an extent. Therapy helps to identify/locate the source for your concerns, realise why you feel in a particular way, provides a non-judgmental and safe space to share, and helps you to heal with a trained professional. Hope this helps :) Take care!
