Usually monocytes are elevated when there is some kind of infection in the body.. Acute or sub acute.. Since you have fever and myalgia along with joint pain an infection is the most likely cause.. For example dengue fever..But they may elevated in some cancers also. So you need further blood investigations. And an xray of the affected joint..
