It’s an Autosomal dominant condition that is if any parent has this disease there is a 50 percent chance to develop in a child ..

Genetics of MVP is debatable. But it is quite common. Almost 5 percent of population have it. It is not a serious disease. About 1 percent of people with MVP can develop complications. So it is usually not treated unless one is symptomatic.
