Based on your description, there is no visible wound or bleeding, and it seems the contact was minimal and superficial. In such cases, rabies vaccination is generally not required, especially if there is no broken skin.
Next Steps
Wash the area thoroughly with soap and water. Monitor the area for a few days for any redness, swelling, or signs of infection. If the cat appeared unwell (aggressive, drooling, strange behavior), consult a nearby doctor for assessment.
Health Tips
If you’re unsure whether the skin was broken or if there’s any anxiety, visit a local health center to rule out Category II exposure. When in doubt, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) can be started early.
