Mild pain in stomach

Asked for Male, 40 Years

I'm feeling mild stomach pain on right side under ribs sometimes pain in center and left side of stomach. My bowel habit change from last year. Now I have to go for stool 2-3 times in a day. And also stool comes in little parts not like previously tight stool. Sometimes I found little mucus in stools. I drink alcohol and smoke. Yesterday I got lft and lipid profile but it is normal only triglycerides out of range 205. I have no other issues like nausea, vomiting, fever and loose weight problems

These are symptoms of colonic inflammation of left side: causes range from simple food infections to IBS At age 40 more investigations are needed to rule out sinister causes too

Would advice stool examination and then a course of antibiotics: Rifaximin 400 mg course twice is helpful If no relief then a colonoscopy would be needed
