Hi all please help me out i recently had my upper GI endoscopy below are the findings
Findings
Cricopharynx is normal
Esophagus shows normal mucosa GE junction is at 36cm.
small hiatus hernia seen. Mild erythema seen at sqamo-columnar junction. Fundus, body shows erosions.
Antrum of stomach normal
Duodenal bulb is normal
DII is normal
RUT taken from antrum
Conclusions
Small Hiatus Hernia/Esophagogastritis/RUT +ve
Please suggest should I go for surgery or not

Hi! First you should check if your symptoms are controlled by medications along with dietary and lifestyle modification. Also if biopsy suggests H pylori infection, take H pylori kit. If troublesome symptoms persists, it’s better to get repeat endoscopy to document healing of erosions and if troublesome symptoms persists due to GER, endoscopic therapies are also available rather than going for surgery.

Depends on how are your symptoms. If the heartburn and regurgitation are persistent after medication and lifestyle changes, you can go for surgery. But if they are controlled after lifestyle modification, you can avoid surgery and continue with that.
