If you have dandruff for as long as three years which is persistent and does not respond to topical treatment it can be chronic dermatitis or an autoimmune cause. Immunity is in question here, methotrexate is basically to stop the reaction happening in your body which is a right treatment. But be regular with the follow up with your doctor.
