I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. I am taking antipsychotic drugs (amisulpride 50mg a day). But I often get anxiety attacks with laboured breathing. A few months ago, I started getting sensations on my legs, chests and even my tongue. Like sharp pricks on my skin. Sometimes my leg muscles would go weak and numb. What should I do?

I understand your distressful situation. In addition to schizophrenia you seem to be suffering from anxiety symptoms as well including breathing difficulties, vague bodily sensations etc. However more clarity is needed regarding your problem to decide on the severity of your condition. Don't worry it is not your fault, it is the hormonal and chemical fluctuations in your brain as a result of stress which is taking a toll on your mental health. It is easily manageable with appropriate treatment, so that dysfunction due to the same can be reduced and your quality of life will improve. Some counselling sessions along with medical help might be useful for you. Please discuss with your psychiatrist regarding the same. I would also be more than happy to help you with that if you are looking for further online assistance or second opinion. Discussions will be held confidential. You can directly consult with me through Practo as needed. Online chat consultation is also available.

You might need to add an anti- anxiety medication to amisulpiride. Please visit your psychiatrist who will be able to prescribe this for you. You should also speak to a therapist who can help you with relaxation techniques / mindfulness techniques which help with anxiety symptoms as well.
