Medicine to be discontinued?
Respected All(Sir/Ma'am), On BP medicines as well as statins. Current readings and reports are normal. Current Doctor is strict and normally gives revert once and that is the final verdict.I respect him a lot but at the moment he has asked to discontinue the medicines, is it ok to do so as i feel the same might be critical. Telmisartan 40for BP and Rosuvastatin 10, just wanted to know if i continue the same will it be harmful or a lower dose perhaps.Thank you for the patience. Best wishes to all. Regards

If your doctor advised stopping Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin due to normal readings, it’s likely safe under supervision. However, these medications prevent long-term risks, so continuing at a lower dose might be an option. Discuss concerns openly, monitor closely, and make decisions collaboratively to ensure your health remains optimal.

If your current doctor has assessed your readings and reports to be normal and has advised discontinuing the medications, it likely reflects their confidence in your progress and current health status. However, stopping medications, especially for blood pressure (Telmisartan) and cholesterol (Rosuvastatin), should always be done under careful monitoring and medical supervision.
Next Steps
If you still feel uncertain, consider seeking a second opinion and consult . This can provide additional reassurance or an alternative perspective

It's not routine to put a 27 year old female on statins. Would like to know more about your past medical history.

If your doctor recommends discontinuing your medication, it signifies that they have carefully considered your situation and provided their professional opinion.  However, it remains important to monitor your blood pressure and cholesterol levels regularly (approximately every three months), and to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet.
