Medicine Shelcal 500 vs Cipcal 500
Hello Dr, For a 65+, if I have been taking Shelcal 500 by myself (as it's generally heard that calcium tablets should be taken for 40+) , can I switch to Cipcal 500? Composition same. I know Cipla is known brand but when I saw it's rates 30% less, I had this confusion...as I thought Cipla is old brand well known than Torrent , but price is vice versa, so confused? Is it safe to switch to Cipcal 500mg and what should be ideal dosage of this bone health supplement what time of day etc? As I take randomly. Can anyone above 40+ take in the same dosage or if NO, what should it be for them ? Do Reply soon

For a 38-year-old female, routine calcium supplementation is not automatically required unless dietary intake is low or there is deficiency if needed, 500 mg elemental calcium per day with vitamin D is usually sufficient it should be taken after meals, not randomly. excess calcium without need can cause side effects, so supplements are best taken based on diet, symptoms, or blood tests. If there is bone pain, weakness, or low vitamin D, testing and medical advice are recommended.
