Amitone (amitriptyline) 10mg is commonly used in IBS for pain relief and to improve gut-brain signaling, and at this low dose it is generally safe. IBS is best managed by a gastroenterologist for the gut-related symptoms, but since there is often a strong psychological component, a psychiatrist or a physician experienced in gut-brain disorders can also be very helpful. Diet changes, stress management, and regular sleep also play a big role in managing IBS.
