Medical Abortion
My pregnancy was not viable so doctor advised me medical abortion. She gave me abortion pills on 23rd July(Mife) and 25th July(Miso). I had heavy bleeding on 25th and passed big clots & then bleeding reduced after 4-5 days & I have been bleeding till today(12nd Aug) but very light bleeding something like spotting. I went to doctor yesterday (18days after taking Miso), she asked me to take a pregnancy test in the clinic & the test was positive with a faint pink line. She has now asked me to go for a transvaginal pelvic scan. Should I go for it? I am concerned because I have read in some articles that pregnancy test taken immediately 1-2 weeks after medical abortion can show a false positive pregnancy because our body still has certain levels of HCG 2-3 weeks after abortion. Should I go for pelvic scan immediately or should wait for 3-4 days for the scan because may be some retained products are still there in my body which may expel in 4-5 days. I don't want to go for D&C.
