Management of Hidradenitis Suppurativa
With the help of AI, I have been trying to diagnose my skin issue which popped up during my puberty and hasn't left me since! I have been seeking consultations my entire life and was almost always misdiagnosed - not to discredit any of my doctors, they are brilliant at their work but due to the uncommon and similar symptoms of this disease! I am 99% confident that I suffer from HS as all the symptoms and the sinus track analogy match my sufferings! Currently I have a painfull abscess in my arm pit which is keeping me on the edge as I don't know when it will pop. How do I start my journey to effectively manage this disease? I understand that this could require multiple specialists and I honestly don't know which specialist I should start with. Any guidance and replies are highly appreciated!

The clinical diagnosis is usually straightforward.
It is the management of the condition that befuddles the medical fraternity.

Once the medical treatment is about 3-6 months underway, then tackle it surgically as well as by then, some glands will have shrunk.
But again, protocols have to be tailored patient to patient and one approach does not fit all.

HS is really difficult condition to deal with, patients lifestyle is severely impaired due to this . Its painful and uncomfortable to have . We cannot cure this because it will keep coming on and off but we can maintain it well and reduce the severity and improve patient’s quality of life. We need to see if you have any commorbidities do some blood tests and plan appropriate treatment which is tailored for you. Donot worry we can increase your quality of life and however the severity of disease will reduce on it own as you age so donot worry. Kindly consult a dermatologist for further informa and treatment. It can be maintained and you dont have to be stressed
