Malaria with low platelets

Asked for Female, 75 Years

Hi doctor my grand mother-inlaw age 75 years is suffering from malaria her platelets count have gone down to 13k. And wbc count was 2200 she was admitted to hospital and as the treatment progressed her wbc count came up to 7000 but there is little improvement with platelet counts upto 24k only. Just want to confirm if there is any relation to wbc and platelets. How much time it would take to recover to normal levels. She do not have any symptoms of fever or vommitting .
