Major Depression
Hi, I have been undergoing depression since childhood unfortunately i discovered it now at age 34 while at its peak. Few symptoms are disinterest in everything, short term memory loss, nervousness, identity crisis, low energy, slow mind, lost the love, unsettled career, no success, very rarely suicidal thoughts but I feel like going back home where ever I came into existence from. I feel like just medication won't be enough. I want to talk to someone and need some therapy, someone who can counsel me & identify the root cause via hypnotherapy. I would like to know if I should see a psychiatrist or psychologist at this moment and can my medications be Ayurvedic?

Hello practo user I can understand your situation that you are currently facing . It seems that some negative childhood experiences have been triggered due to some stress either personal or professional which are now causing these distressing symptoms of memory issues , nervousness , depleted energy etc. It is advisable that you try and maintain a thought diary in which you can write down the emotions and understand the situations leading up to the distress , practice deep breathing techniques and meditation on a regular basis to help your concentration and mood . Spend quality time with close family members and friends while engaging yourself in various activities . It is suggested that you seek help from a clinical psychology for an in-depth understanding and a personalized treatment plan which will make you learn positive and healthy coping skills and strategies for your issues. You can also get in touch with me through the practo app for any further help or guidance.
