My mother is a breast cancer patient with left side removal. Due to which her left arm is swollen for past 20years. In recent past, her full hand from shoulder to fingers have significantly swollen to 9inch of diameter of upper arm and is slowly catching infection.

Lymphedema is a potential side effect of breast cancer surgery and radiation therapy that can appear in some people during the months or even years after treatment ends.
There's no cure for lymphedema. Treatment focuses on reducing the swelling and controlling the pain.... Consult surgeon for further treatment....
