I would have recommended IV Iron infusion for her. She is 32 weeks pregnant. Time is on her side. The effect of IV Iron will be visible by the time she is due for delivery and the chances of need for a blood transfusion will be decreased (or eliminated).

Hb levels are required to be at or above 10.5 in the last three months of pregnancy. In my opinion, the additional oral iron tablet will be sufficient to improve her Iron levels provided she is taking the iron tablets correctly.
Next Steps
Ensure to take Iron tablet prior to a meal. If this causes gastritis, she can take the tablet at least after 2 hours of the last meal. She can take Lemon juice or Vitamin C supplement with Iron tablet to increase the absorption. Do not take Iron tablets along with Calcium, as it can reduce the Iron absorption.
