Loss of smell
My brother(26 years) has loss of smell since 2 weeks. He went for RT PCR test 2 weeks back once he started losing his sense of smell. The report came as negative. Even he has used vitamin tablets for 2 weeks. But still he couldn't sense the smell. He is not having any other health issues as well but loss of smell is only the problem. Whether it takes sometime to regain his sense of smell or should we need to consider this as a serious problem. Can somebody help please..

You need to give it some time, also consult with an ENT physically to rule out any other cause for anosmia.

The smell nerves which are affected by Coronavirus 19 infection become non functioning overnight, but they heal very, very slowly or might not heal at all. That is why the smell sensation is not returned. Once healed your brother will experience smell, but this might take a long  time even year or year and half.

CT Scan of PNS to rule out any other Pathology.
