AST:ALT ratio of 2 with otherwise normal LFT and no alcohol history is usually not significant alone. It can be due to mild muscle-related enzyme variation, early fatty liver, or lab variation, not necessarily liver disease.
Next Steps
To do
-Repeat LFT after 4–6 weeks
-Serum CPK (to rule out muscle source)
-Ultrasound abdomen (fatty liver screening)
-HbA1c (diabetes control assessment)
Health Tips
-Control blood sugar strictly
-Regular exercise, at least 30 minutes daily
-Avoid unnecessary medications and alcohol
-Do not worry based on ratio alone, trend is more important

AST:ALT ratio of 2 can be seen in liver stress but alone not serious, especially if values are near normal.
Since ALP is normal and no alcohol history, monitor and repeat LFT after 4–6 weeks. Also check viral hepatitis profile and ultrasound abdomen once.
No need to worry immediately, but do basic evaluation. Please consult me for proper assessment and treatment.
Here the ratio of ast:alt is 2
It can be non alcoholic fatty liver disease as it is in many cases of diabetes
We have to check for hba1c,usg abdomen and repeat the lft report after a week.
If absolute value is normal or mildly raised AST:ALT = 2 is not significant. It can be due to early stages of MASH. It is advised to share absolute values of LFT.
