Legs bone pain
Hello, I am 34 years old female. I feel a pain in my ankle and surrounding area when I stand and work for long time. I use the anklet belt and RICE for relief. But sometimes, it reoccurs. Can I start OstoCalcium tablet for Calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiency? Kindly advise.

Hello dear You are a young female and your bone mass is expectedly good. However, if you are developing pain on standing for a few minutes itself, means your bone and joint health is kind of compromised. The ankle brace is used in cases of ankle injuries and your case doesn't fit in for the same. You need to develop strength in your ankle and not lose strength by giving it an ankle support. Exercises for the ankle is a must. Supplements are not to be started without testing. There has to be a scientific basis for everything. Regards Dr Vipin Gupta
Next Steps
Get your vit D and serum homocysteine tested. review with reports
Health Tips

An ankle pain necessitating use of an anklet and local ice and other measures may point to a pathology. You require a proper assessment. That being said, no harm in starting vit D and calcium supplements. Most people are deficient. However, it may not address your ankle problem.
Next Steps
a detailed history could help with zeroing in on your diagnosis
Health Tips
pain is the best guide, rest if you have pain and avoid that activity
