Leg pain in spinalcord
My father is suffering from Leg pain.we seeked a doctor,he said a muscle (Not none exactly) connected to Spinal has came out and it will be like coconut in shape . Is it good to do operation? Or whether it can be cured in medicine?

I assume you have been asked to undergo a discectomy . Decision for surgery depends on clinical examination correlated with the MRI findings. Does he have any numbness or weakness in the lower limbs  ? Is his walking distance reduced ? And does he have any bowel bladder symptoms ? If the answer is no to the above questions, maybe surgery might not be needed. But then again your Orthopaedic Surgeon has assessed him clinically so he is the best judge.
