This may be due to lower back pain with nerve irritation which can sometimes worsen around periods due to hormonal changes.
Next Steps
Avoid bending forward, lifting weight, and prolonged sitting for a few days. Use hot fomentation and gentle rest.
Health Tips
If pain is severe, associated with numbness, weakness, fever or bladder/bowel symptoms then consult an orthopaedic/spine specialist. If symptoms keep recurring with periods then consult gynecologist.

Your problem in mainly due to nerve compression in lumbar region of your spine. And during periods cramps adds on with this to pain to make condition more intense. Get a Xray of LS Spine in AP and Lateral. and get a consultation after that.
Next Steps
Avoid all works that strain your lower back.
