I am runner. In my mri report dr. Told me that i have lateral discoid meniscus tear partially.they told me that arthoscopy repair should be done to fix it. I wanted to know the recovery time period after this repair? Is there any other way to fix this (preferably not a surgery method)?

Recovery post repair is 6-8weeks.
You can get meniscectomy if the tear is complex and old. This has less recovery time and has more predictable results than repair.

Conservative measures are nothing but taking rest. You can always do it. But I feel, you would still need surgery to correct intrarticular pathologies.
