Laser treatments for acne scarring
Hi Is it possible for an ultra pulse co2 fully ablative laser used at a 1% pass at 100mj to cause fat loss if used on cheeks for acne scarring? I was told this can penetrate the skin at a depth of 1.55mm with collateral damage extending to 1.75mm. Is this setting safe to use on dark ethnic skin tone? Thanks

Normally for a dark skin tone I prefer being slightly defensive with the settings and using a slightly lower power because the chances of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is higher in such patients. Also the parameters are directing do tend to vary slightly from machine to machine depending upon which type and make are you using. But do not worry about the depth of penetration it does not cause any fat loss. hope this answers your query...
