Laryngopharyngeal reflux is due to reflux of Acid from stomach up into throat: this is generally due to esophageal gastric valve being weak or due to Hiatus hernia. To confirm this, you will need further tests: first 1. Gastroscopy 2. Esophageal Manometry 3. 24 hour pH. These are mostly done by Medical Gastroenterologists. If the diagnosis is confirmed then the cause (Hiatus hernia) can be repaired with surgery which is done Laparoscopic or robotically.
